Beauty : LABELM Curl Creme

Sometimes, you get your hands on a new hair product and you just feel that you’re absolutely going to love it – you excitedly wash your hair and try it out – and nothing – it just doesn’t work. That’s what happened to me the first few times I tried the LABELM curl creme, I was so deflated, I had had all these high hopes for these super-bouncy, non-sticky, beautiful curls but my hair frizzed, curls were not bouncy, it just didn’t work.
I was preparing my negative review when I was getting my hair done at Toni&Guy Malta, the stylist brought this product out to arrange my curls – I explained what had happened and…well…. she started laughing. So here’s the thing, apparently I was using it wrongly. First off, it seems I used far too little of the product, secondly, it is best to apply on wet/damp hair and then reapply when it dries – I had left my hair dry for too long a time. Third, I made the cardinal mistake of applying a spray over the creme which apparently should never have been used on my dry hair.
Fast forward to last Saturday morning when I got the courage to try this out again, I washed my hair using John Frieda curl shampoo and conditioner and applied this product on slightly towel-dried hair. I waited about 45 mins and applied more, both times I was not at all sparing with quantity. The result was lovely – really, really lovely curls.  After a whole day out, the curls did get a bit frizzy but putting water on my hair seemed to reactivate the product.
The best part was the day after – I woke up and reapplied some product and the result is the photos above…

My all-time fave curl cream product which I’ve mentioned a few times here already is Bumble and Bumble curl creme.
I decided to compare the two products:
  • Well the Bumble and Bumble  one you can apply on drier hair, but that’s not really a pro or con..
  • Actual results are pretty similar, although I think maybe Bumble and Bumble encourages more ringlets to form (there’s some technology to create curls) which can be a good or bad thing ,depending on how curly your hair is naturally.
  • Bumble and Bumble I’ve never found in Malta so that’s a con.
  • Price-wise they’re quite similar but  you seem to need more product with the LABLEM one.
I tend to buy my hair products from Malta so probably I would purchase the LABELM one..also in my case I think I prefer the fact that with the LABLEM one I had slightly looser ringlets.
