The White Dress

Brides CAN Wear Specs

I promised you bridal-focused pieces this season and I don’t break promises. So for this next instalment of my collaboration with O’hea Opticians and Silhouette, I went a bit further….
Oh that white dress, just how much meaning can one colour have in a dress? A lot of us women, I would daresay all at least at some point but let’s allow some leeway – we dream of wearing THE white dress, often from too young an age. We dream of that prince in shining armour and that beauty and poise we would possess on our wedding night. What is it about weddings? What makes it all such a beautiful dream?
In my last post, I shone a bit of focus on the idea of wearing sighted specs as a bride and how it’s definitely ok. Some of you messaged and commented about how they were in that exact position and felt really good reading it. I truly believe that COMFORT should be a priority on the big night – you wait for it so long, it would be the ultimate crime to spend it feeling uncomfortable, so if lenses bug you or you feel more like you with your glasses on then WEAR them. It pains me to see brides transform themselves into an entirely different person.

sure it’s always going to get a little fancier but it shouldn’t be a transformation.

It needs to remain YOU.

The eyewear models I showcased in the previous post were a little *ahem* different and I guess probably exactly what my choice would be but I know that most of you do like to be traditional on your wedding day so here goes a bit of classic beauty your way.

Frameless Silhouette beauties with Swarovski crystal adornments.

The beauty of these models is that don’t overpower your face but simply add a bit of a lovely sparkle.

As most of you should know, I’m happily married and if you’ve seen my wedding pictures, I wore the big white dress and smiled the night away as I married my prince – it felt as lovely as I’d hoped for. I don’t know if it was worth the fuss, the pre-planning or the expense but every so often I turn to the hubby and ask him to marry me again, what I’m really asking I guess is for the big white day all over again. Well that ain’t going to happen so I got to do it here instead – right?
A huge, thanks to Marquita of Wedding Bells for letting me wear this beautiful, beautiful dress and to Penelope at Toni and Guy for waking up early on a public holiday to do my hair. And the hubby who took the photos but then again that’s his duty 😀
