For those in the dark, convertible mittens are mittens that feature a fold-able top that folds over fingerless gloves.
I first found out about them around 8 years ago, when I received my first cream pair as a Christmas present and since I am one of those unfortunate souls whose hands are a constant block of ice I thought the idea was genius.
I own a lot of different, normal gloves, leather, fabric, fleece, short,long..you get the gist, infact one might be tempted to say I have a collection of sorts and unlike a lot of people I know, I don’t lose them so the collection tends to just grow. However, when it comes to these convertible mittens, I seem to have a run of bad luck.
The first pair travelled with me on a trip to London where one of these gloves met a mysterious end in some department store or so. I bought myself another multicoloured pair which I didn’t wear too often, probably due to some irrational fear of losing them again, however to no avail, they again met their end this NYE so along have come my third pair, which I have just purchased on sale from Accessorise (pic below) and I think this is my favourite of the three I’ve owned…..so this time I’m really hoping they stick around.
