Trends Post : Concealed Wedge Sneakers

So ladies and gents it’s official, I must either be crazy, a big hypocrite, or as flaky as the weather but right about now I have a confession to make.

In general, I was never a fan of the sneaker trend but when Isabel Manrant first launched these concealed wedge sneakers that quickly became a fad, I was the first to diss them as a stupid idea; as downright ugly.
I ranted on to friends about how I hated them, and they even made my list of the trends I hated most in 2012, BUT all of a sudden, I’m not quite sure what happened ….they seem to have grown on me….

Maybe it’s because I’m seeing them in shops more or maybe I’ve just seen way too many outfit posts with them as the focus, maybe I’ve just accepted the sneaker trend in general.

Either way, I figure if the sneaker trend is going to be around then might as well add a wedge…and let’s face it, they are comfortable..
The original Isabel Manrant ones that started this fad have long since come and gone but there are a few more budget friendly ones around.

Here are my picks :

Wedge Sneakers

Aldo wedge
aldoshoes.com

Dorothy Perkins black sneaker
dorothyperkins.com

Dune leopard print wedge
$125 – debenhams.com

Do you love or hate this trend ? Let me know..would love to hear your thoughts…

I don't like them – if you're wearing heels usually you want to appear more feminine. Sneakers are meant to be casual and comfortable so why add the wedge!

Only just found this!! From a guy perspective…..I love them. No other type of heel offers the discretion that I need to (A) fulfil my enjoyment of wearing heels (B) wear them publicly without drawing attention to my feet and (C) have all of the above whilst maintaining my masculinity and not someone that has gender issues. Even my girlfriend approves! Long live this trend 🙂 Ben x
