Yesterday I attended a fabulous event – SARTO Garden Party showcased the Spring/Summer 2014 collections by Blumarine, Emporio Armani and Dolce&Gabbana. The central underlying theme of the party was a ‘classic Italian wedding‘ and hence the garden party idea. It was held in the stunning gardens of Girgenti Palace, one of the official residences of the Prime Minister under the auspices of Mrs Michelle Muscat and in aid if the Marigold Foundation.
Fabulous does not begin to describe all these clothes especially the Dolce & Gabbana collection, which of course I had poured over endlessly when it was showcased during Milan Fashion Week. I decided not to work backstage at this event and enjoy the show as a highly pampered guest – Martini cocktails, three course meal catered by Zest, flowing wine – not a bad way to spend a weekday. However I did arrive some time prior to the start of the event to spend some time backstage; couldn’t resist.

Those Shoes !! |
For this fashion show both Maltese and foreign models were used and styling and model direction was done by Marisa Grima. The party was setup on turf which also doubled up as a catwalk and this meant the models got to walk barefoot..which was of course very different, both for them and for us..it crated a really nice vibe of couture and relaxation though.
Gorgeous bags, brilliant shoes, intricate gold accessories, print fabrics to-die-for…exquisite lace dresses, I think I wish nearly every piece that was showcased…which actually are for sale at Sarto for a limited time period only.
