I’ve always placed a great deal of importance on good skincare. My mother took me for my first facial at quite a young age, somewhere between the ages of 15 and 16, ever since, I’ve been cleansing, toning, moisturising on a daily basis. I do however, sometimes, perform the most horrible sin of all – sleeping with my makeup on. After a few too many drinks, a day that would never end or just plain exhaustion, sometimes I just can’t face the thought of cleansing – and that’s when the blocked pores and little blackheads start to surface. I try to go for a facial ever couple of months – a good cleaning, a bit of facial relaxation and an hour without my mobile. I like to try new salons, and a few weeks ago I visited Carob Beauty Salon in Naxxar using The Entertainer services.

This wonderful place is run by a lovely woman – Carol from South Africa – she runs this salon with an aim of providing a relaxation experience for both her and her clients, she is truly passionate about making the experience wonderful. She purposely chose the location to be far way from the main street entrance, away from and street noise and in the cooler months before it gets too cold, she has a lovely outdoor spa area in her little garden. In this salon, only organic products are used, they are imported by Carol just for her use in the salon.
My luxury facial started off with a double cleanse that left my skin feeling very refreshed. It then included steam cleaning, massage, masks, and so much loving care that my skin both felt and looked wonderful the next day. Interestingly enough, she opted not to use manual extraction on my pores but just scrubs and cleaning methods. A lovely experience indeed.
