When Revlon asked me to create a Valentine’s Day look, I wanted to create a look for the average person inside all of us. I did not want to create a difficult, ‘extravagant’ look. There are days when I feel like wearing really glamorous makeup and false eyelashes or a ton of muscular but Valentine’s day is not Fashion Week, it’s not a fashion event, it is a day for you and your loved one. I think the look I like to go for is basic me but a little bit dolled up. I honestly think you can’t go wrong with the cliche – red lipstick. I guess it’s probably my essential ingredient for any Valentine’s Day look.
I started out with a good base using the Photo Ready Airbrush Foundation and the colorstay concealer. I left my eyeshadow rather simple using only a bright white and light brown colour from the colorstay palette moonlit. Then I used the colorstay black liquid eyeliner which was really easy to use and agood helping of mascara. I didn’t touch up my eyebrows because I just had my eyebrows tattooed (nano blading by the fabulous Sue Caruana). So as you can see in the pics, the focus is all on the lips. For my lips, I used the colorstay lip liner followed by a lipstick with the most Valentine-appropriate name ‘love’ – the super lustrous love is on lipstick and topped up with the super lustrous gloss. Some people love gloss others don’t – the lippie doesn’t really need that gloss so it can easily be skipped. So that’s it really, just a topping of bronzer or blush (I used the bronze beauty), a helping of highlighter (insta-fix – so handy to carry around) and I was good to go.
Red lips are always a good idea. *There’s also a Giveaway at the end of the post*
