The nautical trend gets a mention every summer; it’s understandable, after all what spells summer more than sailing, boats and sea. This year however, its got more than just a mention and is actually a big trend this summer. Think lots of big bold stripes, both diagonal and vertical in lots of different colours, especially blue and red; the traditional smaller stripes are also ‘in’ this year but be adventurous, go for something a bit bold and different.

An important thing to bear in mind when working this trend is to not overdo it. You don’t want to avoid looking like you’re dressed in a sailor’s costume. An interesting take on the summer trends is to mix the nautical and polka trends together.
