The main ‘it’ bags for the new season are all square, literally…the trend has gone back to structured box-like shapes, reminding us of our school day satchels. These square shapes can be seen in all forms of bags, oversized, medium, clutch.. The style is more ladylike than the slouchy bags of late and also provide room to carry all your stuff without being a huge oversized bag, where nothing can ever be found.

As always, the high street brands have been quick to follow, however, when buying a satchel bag, think about how you’re likely to use it. If you plan on using it as an everyday bag to hold all your stuff and generally take a bit of abuse, then you’re probably going to want to spend a bit extra, invest in something that’s real leather, this should last through the whole season without starting to look tattered halfway through. Also, if for everyday use, it might be better to choose a neutral colour such as cream/black/brown, these tend to match with a lot of different colour options. And with real leather – remember to spry it with waterproof protection before using it.
