Three Maltese designers and three Russian designers, came together tonight to showcase their exclusive collections side by side. Clothes ranged from bridal to funky with jewellery and bags also being presented.

swimsuit collection
Luxury swimwear, classic, but with a twist of contemporary is the best way to describe this collection. Many of the styles presented had lots of diamante adorning and there were lots of vibrant colours. Whilst most styles were bikinis, there were also come cut-out swimsuit styles, one in particular grabbed my attention it had an interesting shade of brown with gold accents
A common element was the use of small bikini bottoms which in general helps make the bum look smaller and ruching at the bust which gives a flattering shape. The styles in general are very figure flattering and should be able to work with a variety of different shapes and sizes.

Evening Gowns
Evening gowns and seductive lingerie was used to describe this collection. The first part of the collection was mainly all black, lots of lace and sequins with a lingerie element common throughout all the styles. The sequin dresses were very impressively tailored, creating the illusion of an hourglass figure on even the skinniest model. A standout piece was a gold short sequinned dress with black sides which made the waist appear tiny.
The second part of the collection was a lot brighter with both red and pink making an appearance, there was also the use of feathers and tulle and the damask pattern. The standout was a backless full length bright pink lace dress.
Throughout the whole collection there was a lot of style versatility with some of the dresses being tight and rigid and others made entirely of floaty fabric giving the appearance of floating on air.
Joe Callus
exclusive leather design
I was already familiar with this designer and have been to his shop in Sliema many times, in general I absolutely adore leather and this collection met my expectations. The collection presented was very interesting, modern shapes and trends were fashioned entirely out of beautiful soft leather often using bright block colours and the syles ranged from chick and smart fashion to punk and biker fashion. What was particularly interesting in one outfit, was the use of real leather to create a pvc-like dress.
My favourite items were the two biker jackets presented, the orange one was beautifully shaped and I love the details on the sleeve, the other one had fur sleeves with studded cuffs and a studded collar. I also loved the red fur long waistcoat with a bubble like shape.

Men and Women
Denim, tartan, fur and funkiness are brought together in this collection and turned into something entirely unique and totally wacky. In this collection, nothing was as it should be, sleeves that weren’t sleeves, pockets that weren’t pockets, denim flowed into tartan and a huge men’s coat had a huge rolling stones logo emblazoned upon it.
Both men and women’s clothes were presented here, a lot of the men’s clothing seemed to invoke the feeling of a warrior with fur waistcoats, big coats and jackets being main elements.
The women’s collection was interesting with heavy use of buttons, printed patterns, lots of colour and patches of different denim. Some standout pieces were a green denim dress with an interesting back and a skater skirt which made me feel like a teenager again, and a beautiful bralet with attached bell sleeves.

Bridal
The dresses presented are the stuff little girl’s dreams are made of. There were princess dresses made from lovely silk fabric, lace dresses, beautiful two piece outfits consisting of corsets and full skirts – the detail on all dresses was impressive. Lots of little delicate beading was used throughout the entire collection, and something simple such as a line of pears sewn onto the dress in the pattern S helped make a plain white bridal dress become a truly stylish bridal dress.
Some dresses seemed to be Grecian inspired but lots of others followed the traditional princess style. Whilst the dresses were billed as bridal, most of them can be worn for many other purposes, especially those that aren’t white. One standout piece was a lovely blue and white corset with a really striking floral pattern worn on top of a full silk skirt made from different shades of blue and hinting into purple. Of course the very last two-tone bridal dress was also a true winner with the front rose being a striking addition to an otherwise somewhat traditional design.

Everything
This was a stunning show – beautiful jewellery, lovely velvet clothes and absolutely lovely bags.
Most of the clothes were made of velvet-like/velvet material and came in various styles, full length dresses were popular here but cocktail dresses were also presented, some were loose fitting and some were designed to fit like a glove, most of these dresses are more appropriate as night time outfits, although the vibrant colours keep them looking fresh.
The bags are lovely, bright colours, different sizes, subtle patterns and big bows are some of their main characteristics. A common style of bag was mainly prevalent throughout the collection, these seemed to be made from a velvet-like fabric. There were also some bags with detailed jewel adorning.
The jewellery is where Pippa’s originality seems to shine through most, whilst the bags and dresses are beautiful, the shapes and styles tend to follow more conservative trends, the jewellery on the other hand totally breaks most of the rules pf normality we are familiar with. Yellow gold was the metal colour of choice and lots of big bold coloured stones were used. Huge circle earrings descend into chandelier earrings, necklaces larger than life, these are definitely not for any shrinking violets.
