Beauty Post : Golden Globes Makeup – Best Looks by Krista Paris

Ladies I have a treat for you today – makeup artist Krista Paris has agreed to guest write with a low down on the best and worst makeup seen at the Golden Globes 2013 and to make it even more fun she’s classified her critique according to the diff makeup trends present !!

1. Natural Beauty – The nude look is definitely back in and it’s clear that those who dare to go bare (makeup-wise of course!) are being praised in the media. Some of these natural beauties include Sienna Miller, Amy Adams, Tina Fey, Lucy Liu, Rosario Dawson, Anne Hathaway.

2. Baroque Trend – The use of metallic eyeshadow in jewel-toned shades is right on trend for this winter. Two looks that stood out are that of Halle Berry and, even more so, Kerry Washington. Get the look here

3. Vintage-inspired – Vintage style makeup has remained popular throughout the years, particularly the use of flicked black eyeliner. At this year’s globes Zooey Deschanel, worked the trend to perfection.

4. Smokey Eye – Another makeup classic that never goes out of style. Many stars chose to walk the carpet with this makeup, but not every star managed to get it right. I love the soft sultry smokey look created for Emily Blunt best of all. It’s chic and sexy but not in your face at all! Other successful smokey eyes included those of Jennifer Lopez, who chose a more classic and darker approach.

5. Bright lips – Wearing bright red or orange lip colour was a huge trend in Spring/Summer 2012, so I was surprised to see Jessica Alba working the trend now. However, paired with her simple and elegant hair and dress, she made it work. Selma Hayak also worked the trend and looked young and fresh in bright lippie. Jessica Chastain and Julianne Moore, on the other hand, wore bright pink lips, paired with nude eye makeup, which complimented their green eyes to perfection!
