A week or so ago my friend Miriam Calleja invited me to a very interesting event INVISIBLE THREADS where she showcased 8 of her poems. These were by interpreted by four very talented actresses (one of them being herself). Her poetry is beautiful, full of beauty and meaning and there is a certain depth to them that was really brought to life in the actresses’ interpretations.

The event was organised by Salon/Is-Salott, which ‘aims to revive the great tradition of the 18 and 19th century Italian and French open salons. An intimate and animated cafe on the move if you like, encouraging social interaction, and the meeting and exchange of ideas, concepts and artistic expression‘.
There was also a ‘fashion’ exhibition, where one of the actresses was dressed in paper costumes, created by by Bulgarian Fashion Designer and Paper Doll Artist, Petia Zasheva and another artistic interpretation of the poem Lady of Shalot.
On a side note, the event also had some amazingly yummy food and desert and was hosted in a wonderful house of character in Valletta, Malta,
