Events Post : EMPORIO Shoe Collection

The shop EMPORIO should need no introduction – open in Gozo since 2006, run by people working in the fashion industry since 1996, it finally came to Malta in 2011 at The Plaza Shopping Mall. Initially, the Malta Store was only a shoes and bags shop but in 2012 they extended it to also house clothes, with a focus on beautiful occasion wear.

Last week I was invited by the lovely Claire Formosa to take a look at their new shoe collection.

A wonderful shoe display (see pic above) was set up in the centre of the shop, along with some tantalising cupcakes sitting nicely alongside the shoes.

I had a lovely time; there were some beautiful shoes to look at, (I took a look at the clothes and bags too whilst I was there and there are some really lovely options, especially for morning weddings !!) .

I also enjoyed discussing the quality and craftsmanship of the shoes and how they go about sourcing them with Claire. They are very focused on only selling shoes that are high in comfort and quality and each year they travel to Milan Fashion week to hand pick the designs and speak to the suppliers personally. As we discussed, they see no point in ‘shoes that hurt’, they want their clients to enjoy wearing their products and very geared towards acquiring repeat business because clients trust them.

In an age where a branch of fashion has almost turned ‘disposable’, it is nice to see people caring about quality and comfort. In my opinion, the comfort in a pair of shoes should never be treated lightly, your feet are very important and it is very easy to damage them through the use of improper footwear !!

To seal off a very nice hour spent in the shop, Claire presented me with a voucher and of course being me, I had to use it right then and just had to have a new pair of shoes !!

I picked out these black ones below – LOVE THEM !! I’ve been lusting over the trend of pointed shoes with gold caps for a while now and these lace ones are simply perfect !!! I see so many potential outfits to team them up with !!! Perfectly in time for Malta Fashion Week next week too 🙂
