A few weeks back, I posted about my various daydreams and decided to expand on a series of posts on the dream where I win the lottery and change my life – In this new life I’m currently living it up in Manhattan in New York City, going to lots of fabulous events and parties and shopping for the necessary outfits.
On May 14, I am off to support the High Line at the Friends of the High Line Spring Benefit, this organization has created a beautiful park out of a run-down rail road line. The High Line is a public park built on an historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side. It is owned by the City of New York, and maintained and operated by Friends of the High Line.Work is still going on on the final part of the park.
Of course, such an occasion requires me to be all dressed up to the nines and here is what I am going to wear :
Kenzo cut out dress / Balenciaga , $725 / Valentino handbag / Dsquared2 brass bracelet / Chanel jewelry
For such a party, my take is to go for something that screams elegance and sophistication but at the same time has style and is not too over the top; after all it is a party in park; not really the right place for ball gowns.
This dress, by Kenzo, which has really interesting back details, is the perfect combination of style and elegance. The colour and pattern have that Kenzo touch of trendy but the cut of the dress is reminiscent of Grace Kelly’s elegance.
The vintage Chanel earrings add a touch of quirkiness whilst the shoes and bangle add some flair of trendiness to an otherwise classical outfit.
Happy Dreaming !!
