Some months ago, a friend of mine sent me a link to Design Sorbet, she thought I would be interested in their project Blog Me, Draw Me and I was very intrigued. Basically, Design Sorbet is an inspiring website full of beautiful drawings, prints and diy run by Ruth, Moira and Sarah. “Ruth is an illustrator/fine artist, Moira is a digital artist & designer and Sarah is a fine artist whose work ranges from sculpture and installation to printing and drawing.” Their exciting project Blog me, Draw me is a weekly post on their website that features a sketch of an inspiring fashion / lifestyle blogger. Every week they feature a new blogger with a small writeup, the sketch and the original image – super cool!
I got in touch and Moira decided to draw and feature me in this project… You can see the full post here on Design Sorbet and this is the picture that she drew, inspired by this outfit post.
It is really interesting to see yourself interpreted through the eyes of an artist; I once sat for a portrait for three different artists and what was so intriguing is that the three artists gave me completely different interpretations. With the age of photography, the idea of getting a portrait or sketch done seems to have died out and it’s quite a shame. Photography is wonderful and a good photographer can do wonders at capturing another side to a person but sketches and paintings are quite different, they are less true-to-life. In my opinion, both the world of photography and the world of drawing should have a place in this world.
