Beauty Post : NYX – The Curve Eyeliner

Recently, NYX Cosmetics opened their first store in Malta and I’ve seriously fallen in love, love the packaging, love the quality, love the friendly staff..love everything basically.

I wanted to buy the whole shop but decided to limit my self to a few items and one of the things I picked up is this exciting curved shaped eye-liner.

Description
This felt tip eye-liner features an ergonomic shape that promises to ease the application of liquid eye-liner and reduce application time drastically. Whilst I’ve never really had a problem applying liquid eye-liner, it can sometimes take me a few minutes longer than ideal to get the perfect-looking flick and therefore this product interested me for those days when I’m REALLY in a rush.
Review
Ease of use : 10/10 – absolutely brilliant, loved this product…I swear it simplifies the process drastically, a couple of seconds is all you need and absolutely perfect eye-liner can then be found on your eyes. Super easy to create cat-eye looks, 60’s twiggy-like flicks and anything else you’ve seen in magazines but never managed to apply! A point of note is that it has a very fine point so it is equally possible to create the thinnest of lines or layer it up for a thicker line.

Long lasting factor : 10/10 – did not smudge, did not fade..stayed put for a whole day without me even having used a primer on my eyes before applying it.
Product Durability : This remains to be seen, felt-tip eye-liners have a habit of drying out quicker than liquid/gel eye-liners, there’s an advice notice on their website to be sure to close the lid tightly and I will also recommend to avoid leaving it open for a long time whilst applying makeup. Nonetheless, the reviews I’ve read don’t seem to complain about it drying out, so I am hoping it will last a long while 🙂
Another point of note is that this eye-liner must be held in a different manner to traditionally shaped felt tip eye-liner; look at the photo above – that is how it should be held, basically you position it infront of the eye not to the side.
You can watch this official video for a tutorial featuring this eye-liner and some of their other products. Fast forward to 1:30 if all that interest you is the curve.
