I’ve been a fan of the Urban Decay eye shadow potion for many years now, I still love it to bits but I may have found a new love to sit alongside it.
When I asked NYX to review their HD range of makeup, they suggested I also try their HD eye shadow base. I agreed, but being honest didn’t expect to like it as much as the Urban Decay one. However, I have to admit to being quite wrong and biased, it’s a really good base..do I like it as much as the Urban Decay one?..read the review below

Review
As I’ve said many times, I have very oily eyelids, without a base my eyeshadow completely settles into my eyelid cease within about 30 minutes. I tested the NYX base on multiple days and on one of those days I removed my makeup after about 15 hours of work and guess what..my eye shadow was still almost intact! There was some slight creasing into the crease but not much and this could only be seen upon close inspection, I noticed this slight creasing on other days too when the temperature was very war, however again only visible upon really close inspection.
On the basis of application of product, I actually preferred it to the Urban Decay, it’s very light weight and blending of eye shadow is a bit easier with the NYX base, meaning it needs less time. I also think it leaves less residue around the eye and is definitely much easier to remove if some product is accidentally placed in the wrong part of the eye..
I’m not entirely sure about the claim to conceal creases and pump up the vibrancy, I didn’t really see any difference in the colour of my eye shadow and I’m not that sure I have that many creases to conceal.
This is actually also substantially cheaper than the Urban Decay one so I’m very happy to have found this product and will definitely continue to use this, however I will continue to keep a stock of the Urban Decay product too and use for those extremely hot summer days when I am likely to be sweating or for when I plan on being out literally all day. For other more normal days I have fond a new favourite though!
