How
would you describe your style?
would you describe your style?
Every
morning I switch on MTV and get inspired, its always between Gwen Stefani, Rita
Ora and Robyn. I love their style so I try to combine them together. I can
describe my style as retro meets London streets and with a resulting a fun
look.

When did
your interest in photography first begin?
your interest in photography first begin?
Funnily enough when I had my first birthday party, my parents had
organized my ‘quccija’ and I had picked up a camera film reel. Ever since I was
a child, I used to follow my father and grandfather around the studio and
constantly steal their equipment, hiding it in hope that one day I would get to
use it, so I always had an interest in becoming a photographer. I completed
courses and studied in London, hoping one day I could fulfil my
dream, and follow my grandfather’s and father’s footsteps.

When did
it actually turn into a profession? Which branch of photography do you feel you
excel at most?

3 years ago my father passed away so I had to take over his studio
photography business overnight; this focuses mostly on wedding photography
rather then anything else, but outside the studio, my main goal is moving
forward within fashion photography.

What do you consider to be the most important element in a fashion
photograph?
photograph?
Probably the whole package – in the sense that the hair and make up of
the model must compliment the styling, creating one whole combined element.
This in turn makes it easier for us to work and capture particular photos which
are projecting this combined “element” whilst we direct the model.

In your
opinion, what makes a fashion model brilliant?
opinion, what makes a fashion model brilliant?
To me a fashion model must be up for anything and any changes. They must
have an open-minded approach and ready for any challenge we are willing to give
them. Then she is brilliant!

Describe
the best/favourite photo you have ever shot?
the best/favourite photo you have ever shot?
My favourite shot must be a shot I had taken of Joy Gatt for an advert
done for Cinnabon. It was a very simple shoot taken in Marisa Grima’s house,
and we had given it a very vintage look. The photos were also chosen for the
American Cinnabon adverts to use in the US.

Plans
for 2013?
for 2013?
At the
moment I am focusing mostly on weddings, and foreign magazines. Later on this
year, on my time off in October, I am hoping to visit London and find a short
term internship with a fashion magazine to further my learning, creativity and
experience in my photography.
