My Styling Work : Marks and Spencer A/W 2013 Fashion Show

Last Saturday Marisa Grima and I were asked to style a mini Marks and Spencer Fashion Show presenting their Autumn Winter Collection – right outside the Sliema store. We had both already worked together on styling the editorial shoot for this collection (pics should be released soon) so we had a fair idea of what interesting pieces were to be found. In total there were three shows, each showing the same looks but we split each show into two themes, well colour schemes really more than themes.
The first was based along monochrome and greys whilst the second was based around this season’s hottest colours plum and pinks. Photos taken from the Marks And Spencer Malta Facebook Page.

The models from suprnovamodel.com did a wonderful job in spite of the heat and the fact that they were wearing winter clothes. Thumbs up also goes to Krista Paris for lovely makeup that withstood the heat.

A lot of us have always been of the opinion that Marks & Spencer is mainly for older people but both in Malta and internationally, this year, the British brand has really made a strong push to break into the more fashionable sector and present a more youthful image. Check out this pic from the British Fall Campaign ‘Meet Britain’s Leading Ladies’.
Renowned photographer Annie Leibowitz photographed amongst others, US Vogue creative director Grace Coddington, actress Dame Helen Mirren, singer and songwriter Ellie Goulding, supermodel and singer Karen Elson, former ballerina Darcey Bussell and artist  Tracey Emin.
Having now spent a good number of hours looking at this new collection, I must say I am quite impressed; there are some really lovely pieces, and of course, the quality of the garments at M&S, as has always been the case, is of a high standard.
