Events Post : Backstage at Times of Malta Pink Fashion Show

Yesterday evening the Times of Malta Pink Fashion Show happened. My role in this event was to be the official blogger for the show and to also help Marisa Grima out in dressing the girls backstage.
The show was staged at The Aviation Museum which is an amazing setting for a fashion show; extremely original, quite unique. The show was really well thought out and planned – loved it!
I arrived there at about 2 pm and my afternoon started out nice and calm – photo taking, looking at lovely clothes, chatting to models, drinking tea, eating sweets and all that jazz….when the actual show started..things were a bit different – lots of rush and madness and limbs and shoes flying about everywhere. The atmosphere backstage at a fashion show is probably something you need to actually experience rather than imagine so as to understand it. However much preparation is done, however much organisation happens – the changes are quick, the clothes need to be taken care of and there are lots and lots of people everywhere, very often in the places you want them to be least.
The general plan was to have two groups of 15 models each from supernovamodel.com and these groups would alternate. However, there were two very last minute model cancellations which meant two girls had to double bank and literally walk the whole show; ofc that meant more rushing.
Check out some photos I snapped backstage before things got too crazy…lots and lots of Clothes and Shoes ………

More Clothes
I really did love the clothes. The Blumarine collection was of course my favourite but sadly somewhat out of reach budget-wise.
Blumarine collection
Max & Co really impressed me, I’ve always been a fan of the store but this season’s collection is of a truly impressive standard, lots of prints and eclectic designs but all really stylish and chic.

Coccinelle bags  always drive me crazy and make me want to spend lots of money :D.

Tommy Hilfiger had an exciting mix of preppy, quality materials and style whilst Armani Jeans exuded Italian style with a flair for originality.

Monsoon’s patterned coats and jackets are always wonderful, this season they have some truly exciting ones – their bohemian chic style is perfect for a stylish woman who doesn’t want to look like a teenager.

Marks and Spencer has been impressing me of late and yesterday was definitely no exception – sequinned blazers, fur coats …patterned bags and leopard shoes — ooh la la!

Guess is always exciting, what with animal prints, faux fur, an amazing pair of sequinned black jeans that have my name written all over them – I loved their collection.

Last but not least the ultra trendy Aldo shoes who also showcased those patent, red quirky, buckled shoes that I talked about here and that I still haven’t gotten over.

The Veronica Lake 1940s inspired hair and makeup really suited the occasion and the models looked very, very glam and chic, the makeup and hair teams both did an incredible job – not easy with so many models.
After the show there was a lovely reception catered by Infinitely Xara.
From my opinion the show was a huge success and everyone I spoke to seemed to be of the same opinion so thumbs up to the whole team and thanks for letting me a part of it!
