Shopping Post : Let’s have a bit of Denim with Tommy

So ladies and gents (yes today we’ve got the gents too) I’ve got a new brand to work with and write about and this one is actually one of my fave brands ..TOMMY HILFIGER both the main line and the denim line..but for today we’ll focus on the denim line.
Did you actually know there were two different lines? It seems as though a lot of people are actually unaware of this which is a shame because there’s actually quite a difference between them and they appeal to different people in different ways. Hilfiger Denim is I guess ‘trendier’ or ‘cooler’ as we kids of the 90s like to say…you’re more likely to find patterned denim, more casual, fun items and the overall look is much less preppy. You could say that Hilfiger Denim’s target audience is slightly younger than its counterpart but more than age its really about attitude, it’s entirely logical for someone to sometimes wear the denim line and other times the main line, depending on the occasion.
This brings me to my next focus point and this is Malta-specific..the location of the Denim stores…most people that know Hilfiger Denim exists are aware that there exists a Hilfiger Denim at The Point but far fewer of these are aware that there’s also a store in Valletta..however, probably 3/4 of Maltesers in general know there’s a Tommy Hilfiger store in Valletta in Malta…..so guess what……they’re in the same building and no one knows….in what is probably one of Valletta’s best kept secrets Tommy’s fascinating basement is housing Hilfiger Denim in that most gorgeous of all buildings the former Giobatta Delia.
I paid a visit to the store this week and snapped some pics.
The denim brand carries both male and female lines, both lines pretty much designed along the same vein of thought.

Time to talk about the clothes and my likes and dislikes – I do like the main Tommy line, whenever I walk into the store I always pick up a number of things for closer inspection..however, strictly speaking, the style is a bit preppier than me…when I first discovered the Denim line ..some years back, I at once thought it a bit more my style..basically, the pieces exude a bit more originality, a bit more flair for drama and eclectic dressing which is after all quintessentially me.
My visit to the store gave me time to inspect the current stock selection and there were a number of things I would like to house in my wardrobe..especially their shoes and denim.
Love the detailing!

I know many of you think I never look at menswear ..but you’re wrong .. I do… look at all these options !! We shall never have a badly dressed Maltese man again…right ?

Besides the great clothes, the basement has been done up so well that even if you don’t like the Hilfiger Denim brand, you should still check it out as purely an interior decorating feat…I’ve always loved the building in general but I fell in love with the quirky feel of the basement level set amongst the historic features of the building.

Go go go…go?
