Shopping Post : Tom and his Women

There was a man named Tom who in the 80s decided he would like to make clothes for men so after securing backing, in 1984 he launched the first male collection – jeans and sportswear. However, by the 90s men were no longer enough and he decided he also wanted to meet and dress women and there we have it – a little bit of history as to how the Tommy Hilfiger brand came about.
Although it started out as just a male focused brand, today this is not the case at all. Their female collection is of a very high standard and has a lot of lovely design flair.
To prove my point here are some pics of different items I snapped in their Valletta store, love the colours, patterns, fabrics…oh and look at that awesome hat!
This season in general I’m in love with the colour maroon, infact I think 3/4 of my winter outfits have had maroon in there somewhere, I’ve always loved purple toned colours in winter. Well and truly I’m a pink girl at heart but baby pink really doesn’t do my complexion any favours and I prefer to leave brighter pinks for the summer so purple and maroon are my very happy consolation prizes. This year I’m in luck as maroon in one form or another is simply everywhere. Interesting tidbit – Pantone have just release orchid as the colour of 2014 meaning purples are sticking around!
The ‘outfit’ combo below has been styled to be worn with dark blue denim… skinny jeans tucked into the boots or a denim skirt and thick tights (dark, navy blue or a v dark shade of maroon)…..I like both options. That patterned shirt is really to-die-for ..such a statement piece and these scarves are lovely, you can wear both together if you feel as cold as I do or interchange the two.
Wear this outfit for a day out shopping/a trip to the cinema/a casual dinner…lots of different options.
In Malta, Tommy Hilfiger Stores can be found in Baystreet Shopping Complex Paceville and in Valletta.Hilfiger Denim Stores can be found at The Point and in also Valletta (in Valletta same store as Tommy Hilfiger – basement level).
I also strongly impose that you visit their facebook page right here.
