EVENTS POST : MFWA – TIFFANY PISANI MALTA FASHION WEEK 2014 – DAY 4

Pjazza San Gorg has always been associated with Malta Fashion Week, the photography exhibition has for the last few years been hosted on huge billboards across the square. Today however it played host to its first ever fashion show. The models walked out from behind the billboards, onto the catwalk modelling Tiffany Pisani’s swimwear collection and jewellery by Marpesia and Co. (by Martina Gullaumier).

My role was styling backstage, helping the models out of one outfit into another but mainly choosing and styling the jewellery for each look. The lovely make up was done by Elaine Galea whilst Chris Mifsud was the night’s hairdresser and of course Aldo shoes were worn. Models from supernovamodel.com – nauseatingly, amazing figures.

Tiffany’s swimwear line (sold at Label C in Sliema) has some interesting cuts and I especially liked the gold hardware details on some of the designs, the collection encompasses a variety of different colours and patterns – there were one-piece swimsuits, padded bikini tops and of course the all-time favourite – the skimpier triangle bikinis

My favourite piece was this bikini in the pic below, I really liked the shimmering pattern on the top.

The beautiful jewellery really added an element of elegance to the look, from delicate brass necklaces, to large, bold earrings and necklaces, there was a lot to feast your eyes on. It is hard to believe that each of these pieces are made entirely by hand by Martina. Apparently she produced this entirely handmade collection especially for Malta Fashion Week.

She also set up a delightful stand in the pjazza showcasing all her beautiful jewellery ranges and headpieces.

However, the best model on the catwalk was the new Mercedez GClass that also got it’s spotlight moment when it was reversed on the catwalk. The show was followed by a lovely reception and some yummy cocktails.

Another great evening full of fashion in magical Valletta. Thumbs up to everyone 🙂
