December – my favourite month of the year. I love Christmas, I love buying Christmas presents, going to parties, spending time with the family and the fact that a lot of people are simply in a good mood over Christmas. It is also the hubby’s birthday bang on Christmas day so that adds to the fun of the whole thing. In fact, I love so many things about December that I wasn’t quite sure how I would go about choosing just one charm from Pandora from their Christmas Collection.
There is a drawback to December however and that’s the cold, cold weather that this month usually brings with it. I can just hear some of you saying – Malta’s not that cold at all, get over it. Well, it is always subjective to how cold the person feels. In my case, I can attest that I feel pretty darn cold, I need to be wrapped up into something resembling a snowman to at least feel human and lo and behold my fingers find themselves out of their gloves for a long period of time.
I’m aware that many places colder than Malta exist and for some reason I keep visiting them during the Winter. These trips usually bring with them copious amounts of hot chocolate and my trusty mittens. I lived in Scotland for a year, about 7 years ago and my hands seemed to be perpetually numb until the hubby who back then was simply a little boyfriend, found these mittens lurking in the children’s section of an outdoor sports shop. They’re so padded that we nicknamed them bubbles – they basically saved my hands from needing a funeral that year and guess what – they’re still alive and kicking.
When I saw these little mittens in the Sliema Pandora outlet, I knew they were the ones, they’re so cute and you can move them up and down and they’re just so basically me. The stocking also interested me (stockings are my favourite present form) but these mittens were simply the ones.
