Daddy’s Gifts – A little Bit of Luxury

Sometimes I feel that Daddy’s day is unfairly overshadowed by Mummy’s day. Maybe it’s because the wrath of a forgotten woman is much more of a threat than that of a forgotten dad – maybe, after all, some Dads would be likely to forget too if no one reminded them. However, Dads do a lot for their children, most times they’re the backbone of the family, the quiet guys working behind the scenes to solve different problems and they’re generally always a good shoulder to lean on. So imo – Daddies deserve the best. Just like I had done for Mother’s Day, I’ve compiled a Father’s Day Gift Guide with ideas on what to buy – this was done in collaboration with the Diamonds International Store in Valletta so all gift ideas can be purchased from there. I’ve picked different items which vary widely even in terms of price.

Father’s Day Gift Guide

Starting with the most affordable – Mont Blanc Leather Goods – the prices start from around 120 euros and there are various styles and shapes.
First up is a card holder. I love gifting card holders to men – one of my pet peeves is a man wearing a lovely pair of trousers that has a wallet bulge. Men’s wallets tend to be large and they’re often stuffed to the brim – they generally also own only one. My belief is that they should also have a card holder that can hold the essential cards and a few notes. Coins are not fundamental to anyone’s existence.
Next up is an actual wallet. Men’s wallets generally need to be replaced much more frequently than a woman’s, reason being is that again it lives in a pocket along with keys and mobiles. It gets scratched, corners get frumpy…la la la.

Nice belts are always a good idea and there are so many different styles of belts that a man could own – different colours, textures, width differences, buckle shapes and size options….the list is actually quite extensive.
Sadly, not all men wear cufflinks but for those that do…this is a hell of a wonderful selection.

Andddd I’ve saved the best for last – for those that are really up to splurging on Daddy – there’s nothing a man enjoys more than a beautiful watch…..There are many beautiful ones to choose from in this store but I’ve decided to show you a couple that struck my fancy and cater to different personalities.
First up we’ve got two Longines models. One model is in a classic, elegant style and the other is a waterproof sporty model for the outdoorsy type. Both watches are automatic watches and both are just beautiful. I own a Longines watch myself and I really have no complaints, only happy thoughts. The great thing about this brand also is that whilst it is a prestigious Swiss brand – they’re not prohibitively priced.

And for the definitive top of the lot – this uber-stylish, prestigious watch – Reverso Jaeger-LeCoultre. This watch is so beautiful and so interesting – a watch with two faces. Read a snippet of its story below

British India, 1931. A group of British army officers challenged Jacques-David LeCoultre to design a watch able to withstand their games of polo, the country’s most prestigious sport.
It was this challenge that led to the creation of the Reverso watch. Its dial flips over and is thus concealed against the wearer’s wrist, allowing the watch to withstand all blows while losing nothing of its elegance. A watchmaking icon was born.

You can also engrave, lacquer or enamel the back and therefore personalise it.
