MFW : Elisabetta Franchi SS17 : Show & Outfit Post

I guess, judging by the amount of her clothes I wear, most of you must know that I’m quite a fan of designer Elisabetta Franchi – she appeals to my sense of aesthetic, that feeling of femininity with a huge dose of elegance, sensual looks but not overtly sexy. I have been a fan ever since Rebelli introduced me to her work some few years ago. Last night was her fashion show for the Spring / Summer SS17. The collection did most definitely not disappoint – lots of brilliance in every sense of the word.
The collection is not a casual one, it’s not designed to take you to the grocer, it is designed to take you from one fabulous event to another. It is clear that the Franchi woman is a showstopper. It is inspired by Helmut Newton and revives that splendour of the past – think Dynasty and Dallas, back to when getting dressed was an art not something you did every day. There are mermaid skirts, bodysuits and lots of high cut waistlines – all designed to show off the body to its full effect and power.  Some beautiful jewellery and high heeled shoes completed the looks.
Two nights in a row – Anna Cleveland also walked in this show, she caused quite a stir when she walked onto the catwalk and lit a cigarette that she proceeded to smoke all the way down the double catwalk. Her huge applause was definitely well earned – she is not just a beautiful model but a performer.
This is two posts in one as I also wore Elisabetta Franchi for this show via Rebelli. This dress and these killer boots are from her current Autumn / Winter Collection. If there ever was a dress made for me – this would be it.
