A few years ago, pool lidos weren’t really my thing, I was generally more of a beach girl. Maybe because I’ve got older and more inclined to enjoy hassle-free days, the sheer volume of ppl, traffic and parking issues to get to the beach has started to bug me. The good thing is that this coincides with the opening of some beautiful Lido options, one of which is the truly stunning SKYBEACH at Intercontinental. SKYBEACH is at the Intercontinental Malta and is all about pampered luxury.
I literally spent almost the whole day there last Saturday with the hubby, it was a gorgeous day and I finally got to use a giant pool float. It’s much harder to climb onto that you would think, it was windy so I was also somewhat scared that it would ride with me over the edge of the infinity pool. The place feels very upmarket with great service and a chilled vibe. Every Sunday Events by Martin organise one of their events which means good music and a good crowd.
We also had a nice fishy lunch – we shared calamari fritti and crudi for starters, I then had brown meagre with polenta whilst Kurt had a seared tuna salad. A few cocktails and spritzers accompanied the afternoon.
I wore a new dress from Shein which I think suited the place and blue-toned surroundings perfectly.
