As the official Miss Malta Blogger I will be discussing and examining the style evolution of the competitors throughout the duration of this competition. This post focuses on Miss Zurrieq – Mandy Micallef.
The beauty team of Miss Malta is made up of Marisa Grima (styling the fashion show), Shasha Fabri (makeup), Transforma, Sue Caruana Beauty Inc (nails) and Patrick and Screen Malta (hair).
Like Gessika, Mandy was also a model who has appeared in other TV programmes prior to the inception of the Miss Malta competition. With this in mind Mandy already had a fair idea of what suits her and I’ve always liked her style. One of the main differences between her audition look and her Miss Malta look is her hair – it’s gone curlier and has been given more volume. I like it, it suits her and adds a bit of drama which suits her personality.
One of the differences I can see in the photo above and below is that in the one below she is wearing false eyelashes. In general, on most people I am in favour of false lashes but on Mandy I think they make here eyes look droopy. The shape of her eye is already quite heavy lidded, the added weight of the lashes seem to bring this out more.
For Monday’s programme Mandy was giving temporary hair extensions, they really looked good on her! Since she is quite a tall girl and the shape of her face is not that small, she can really handle long hair. LOVED IT! I also loved her on the catwalk, the outfit really suited her and she worked it well.
