Beauty Post : A Lovely Pampering Session

A few weekends ago Dean Gera and The Make Up Store at The Point invited me over for a lovely day of pampering – to get a treatment and blow dry at Dean Gera and to get my makeup done at the Make Up Store. You might recall me blogging about The Make Up Store sometime last June when they sponsored the Klikka cinema event. I had enjoyed my time in the store so I was quite excited to receive this invitation.
They were nice enough to accommodate me on a Saturday since weekdays are rather difficult for me, it turned out that on that Saturday in question I had a wedding – brilliant!

The blowdry at Dean Gera was actually a really good one and as the poor woman exclaimed, my hair is really not easy to blowdry but my hair had an amazingly smooth, sleek finish. I’m always a bit apprehensive before getting my hair blowdried at a new salon, my hair resembles afro curly hair and is very dry and frizzy but also rather thin and easily damaged.. too little heat and pulling means results would be very short lived, too much and the hair would split causing even more frizziness.
After getting my hair done, I made my way to the Make Up Store next door; the session started off with a tour and explanation of some of the latest products launched this season.
 Really love this punk collection!

The highly informative tour ..check out more photos on my facebook album here.. was followed by the makeup session – lovely, lovely makeup with lovely contrasting eye colours – the two photos below show ALL the products and tools used by the makeup artist.
Luckily enough (for me not for him – he was quite peeved at being made to take these pics), the hubby popped by, camera in tow, just in time to take some snaps of the makeup being done. You can also see my blowdried hair in these photos.
I was quite impressed by the quality of the makeup that I sampled throughout the shop tour, they also gave me a goody bag to take home full of yummy stuff so a few reviews will follow this post.
Besides the reviews to come, this post is Part 1 of 3 as getting my hair and makeup done inspired me to force the hubby to actually shoot TWO outfit posts that day so you’ll get to see the complete finished look very, very soon.
