It’s official people who work in fashion are slightly wacky, at least the people I know are. A few weeks back, on a Wednesday evening, there was an Aldo promotional event as already blogged about here . I went with stylist Marisa Grima..which is where the the crazy fashion part comes in…….I ask you, what do you do when attending a shoe event?….you ignore all the brand new pairs of shoes sitting in your house still wrapped in plastic, and pull out a pair of vintage platform boots right, what else ?
That’s what Marisa decided to do, why did she do that? Silly question… they were the ones that matched her culottes most of course 😀 The even funnier part is that she bought these shoes from Paris in 1995 and never wore them before last Wednesday…
Now here’s the thing..shoes need to be worn..if they’re not worn the glue softens, leather or other materials can crack and they can generally just fall apart, now both she and I know this but because as the saying goes it’s all in the name of fashion – she risked it anyway..needless to say the shoes didn’t actually last the whole night….they did look fantastic though and we did manage to snap a couple of pics before they fell apart so I guess it was worth it.
