Shopping Post : Playing Paper Dolls with Tommy

Do you remember those paper dolls? It can’t have just been my childhood that featured them, I remember spending hours cutting out these paper dresses and other items from this big book and playing around and putting outfits together all on a paper doll. Whenever I use polyvore, I’m reminded of this and I think whoever came up with the idea must have also spent time as a child playing with paper dolls and designed this site with the intention of helping us all recreate those memories…lets face it, what other purpose would such a site serve?

Today I’ve spent some time playing with paper dolls again..this time in relation to Tommy Hilfiger, note that’s the main Tommy line (not the Denim line which I wrote about last week); this means more luxurious fabrics such as leather, silk, pure cotton and fine wool..all chic and classy.

Here is the first look:

This look is a mix of eclectic and preppy, the mix of bright colours is an eclectic, non conservative choice but the style of the individual pieces remains preppy cool a style that is synonymous with Tommy Hilfiger.

And…. Men, ahoy, I have not shunned you, I have been playing with male paper dolls too..that sounds wrong somehow….

Lately, I seem to have a thing for velvet blazers…I keep feeling drawn to them..maybe it’s a secret yearning for wizardry or royalty finery which might have come about due to my recent Tudor-related bedtime reading ..not sure, either way, I think all men should get themselves a velvet blazer this season and they should wear it exactly as I’ve styled it – lets face it my way is the only good way …right ?
