Caroline went on an outing. Caroline went out to Sunday lunch. Caroline ate a lot of food because Caroline went to a SUNDAY BUFFET lunch at Corinthia Hotel St George’s Bay. Caroline got to try EVERYTHING she fancied. Caroline was a happy girl. The End.
I’ve mentioned before that I’m a fussy eater, by fussy what I really mean is that I will look at a menu and find a million things I want to try but. I will need to amend at least one ingredient in every choice. To top it off, I’m also an indecisive eater, the hubby god bless his soul keeps asking me what I want him to cook for me, he thinks I’m being difficult when I shrug my shoulders but I find it difficult to choose from a menu, his question has unlimited possibilities, knows no boundaries – how can I choose from THAT?
The buffet concept must have been invented for me. There are no choices to be made, you can have a bit of everything and go back for more, repeatedly. You can build your own plates with only the things you like and you can have pasta with potatoes without anyone thinking you’re insane. There’s also always going to be a chocolate dessert option or an actual chocolate fountain in this case, I must have been a good girl this week.
I will attempt to give a run through of all that I sampled at this lunch
- lebanese dips and pitta
- lots of king prawns, smoked salmon and calamari
- I made my own pasta dish !! (fresh pasta, prawns, pancetta, cherry tomatoes, garlic. olive oil, white wine and chilli)
- India – tikka masala with pilau rice
- Potatoes (read above)
- Chocolate things
- More chocolate
I highly recommend Sunday lunch here especially for families as there is ample place between tables for buggies, children under 12 eat for free AND there is an animator, easy and free parking, live music and well lots and lots of food.
