The maxi dress was big last year, we wore it long, over wedges and flats… in all colours and patterns.
This year the maxi is back, both in dress and skirt form but with a twist…it’s gone SHEER….
As you might or might not know sheer fabric is a big trend this season..therefore it was only a matter of time before sheer and last season’s favourite (the maxi) combined.

As you can see when we say sheer we don’t mean…”oh my god I can see her knickers” sheer, this new take is a blend of lined and sheer leading to a sexy but non-provocative look. The nice thing about such a skirt is that it can be dressed up or down. Team with a pair of heels and some nice jewellery for an elegant evening outfit or dress down with a pair of flats for a casual daytime look.
One thing is for sure… the breathable sheer fabric will defintely be a lifesaver in the Maltese summer.
By all means do still keep and wear all last year’s non-sheer maxis as they are still ‘in’ this year but if you want to be truly on trend then invest in at least a semi sheer one in lovely floaty fabric.
