It’s time to raid your grandma’s closet because lace is back with a vengeance this season. Last winter season we had already had a preview whereby black lace accents made appearances on clothes giving off a somewhat gothic influence; we even had full black lace evening wear on the red carpet. However, this season lace is in full swing with the focus of the trend being prettier and brighter.
Over the years, lace has always been used in clothing to somewhat varying effects, somtimes ranging from demure and innocent and sometimes more revealing often bordering on the somewhat trashy. This season, the focus is on demure and innocent, so think of white princess-like dresses and think of lace accessories teamed with pretty bows and flowers.
In my previous post I talked about sheer maxis, sheer and lace were also seen together all over the catwalk last September so if you’re brave enough, you might want to consider a sheer lace dress, for those of us less brave, sheer lace inserts might be a way to workthe trend.
