Christmas and New Year Parties have come and gone leaving us with some extra pounds to shed and a trend that’s here to stay – sequins. Sequins were so popular around all those festive-season-designed party dresses that some of us may feel like we had an overdose, however for those of us who love to sparkle..no worries, sequins are here to stay.

Of course, for a more wearable take on the trend, don’t only think sequins head to toe but a touch of, sequins on an otherwise plain outfit can truly add a bit of jazz. Check out this photo of Serena’s (Blake Lively) outfit on a recent episode of Gossip Girl.

This Marc Jacobs sweater is wicked, remove the sequin band and the outfit would have looked like any normal daytime shopping ensemble, the sequins are what make it memorable.
