Spring / Summer 2012: STYLE MAGAZINE- Spring Nautical Photo Shoot

For the last two editions I’ve been the stylist for the fashion shoot for STYLE magazine (website – STYLE facebook – FB STYLE) and it is all very exciting ad lots of fun. The theme for the for the March Edition of Style was nautical – a very big trend for this season.

Nautical was all over the catwalk last September and it has now hit the shops big time. Think stripes, think blues and reds and think anything with anchors and ropes and other boat-related motifs.

The great thing about nautical, is that tit never seems to go completely out of fashion, therefore chances are you will be wearing your nautical purchases for years to come !!

The day of the shoot was actually anything but summer as it was the day where it rained most all winter. The location of the shoot was Piazza Tigne and therefore the rain meant, we had to get creative and find different ‘sheltered’ areas

In the first photo below Nikki wears a very stylish cocktail dress that could be worn to an evening wedding and/or cocktail party, launch party of some sort; the red bag gives it a splash of colour and keeps it in the trend. The second photo is a much more casual, relaxed loo, the outfit could be worn for a daytime shopping trip, relaxed lunch, out to the movies..lots of places.

The outfit below has a retro feel to it, the mix of feminine polka dots and red leather, with a lady like scarf thrown in keeps it interesting, wear this whenever you want to make a statement !!

In the first photo Nikki is smart casual, the lace top and blazer are very smart but the jeans and cross body bag dress it down, perfect outfit for a casual smart dinner, a less formal party.. change the jeans to black trousers and swap the bag for a clutch for an instant formal take to the outfit.

In the second photo, the dress can be worn both for a smart occasion, with a little clutch , high heels and some jewellery similar to what is worn in the pic; and also for a more relaxed evening, maybe with some chunky stone jewellery and a cross body bag instead.

The outfit below is perfect for elongating legs, looking stylish whilst at the same time staying away from a formal look. The cardigan could easily be swapped for a short dress for those of us less daring.
