Events Post : AKE Fashion Party

Last week I was invited to the Ake Fashion Party at InterContinental and it was an absolute blast – flowing alcohol, good music and delicious food all accompanied by a great fashion show (organised by models.com.mt).

This was actually my first introduction to the brand, although it’s been franchised in Malta for a few years, the shop is located in Zabbar Road Paola opposite the Gallaria Fgura.

The Winter Collection was presented throughout the show; the clothes are lovely and what I liked most was that although the collection follows the main Winter Trends, the pieces have an original flair which makes their clothes feel somewhat different to other pieces found in other chain stores. The quality is also very high and there’s an obvious attention to detail.

There is of course some denim to be found within every Winter collection this year – I really like this dress, love the flattering cut, the high collar and the gold detailing.

Fluffy bag – enough said !!:)

A black coat is of course a staple found in every woman’s Winter wardrobe and a lot of them tend to be plain and boring, so I get very excited when I see new things being done to the basic black coat, in this case the addition of polka detailing – brilliant !!

Loving these trousers – only for perfect legs though.

This red fur cropped jacket has my name written all over it, this versatile piece can easily be dressed down and up and will look fab either way – that makes it a winner.

I like the fact that the print on this dress is only at the front, makes the dress more flattering.

In the pics above and below the model is wearing a green bag that I really like, interesting shape and colour.

and Last but not Least….

Unfortunately, I was unable to locate a picture of the model wearing what in my opinion was the true stand out of the collection so I pulled the image from the brand’s website. This blazer has everything I could want for in a blazer this season – a fluffy version of the classic Chanel tweed, with beautiful silver hem stitching – absolute perfection.
