It really seems as though designers have gone back to a time gone past and re-introduced real fur back into their collections, in a big way this season.
Faux fur has been popular for quite a few years now and for the past two years, fall collections already had dome elements of real fur in their collections. There were also a few vogue editorials which featured real fur that I do remember commenting on in the past two years. However, it now seems as though in the coming autumn/winter seasons we are likely to be seeing a lot more real fur around.

At Tom Ford, London
I’m not sure how I feel about this, I’ve only ever allowed myself to wear vintage real fur (and by vintage I don’t mean ten years old, I mean at least 40) my reasoning being that with vintage fur, it is more of a crime to throw it away than use it. However, otherwise, I was brought up in a time when it was considered a crime and inhumane to wear real fur and in fact for the past few years, it was quite common to see charity shops stocked with real fur coats that people discard. It was not even considered that fashionable to wear real fur. Now that designers are using it again, how will the world react ??
Let me know your thoughts….
