Going away for just a weekend is more of a packing headache than one would immediately think….the trick to downsize the amount of packing needed, is to locate those key items that can be used for a morning outfit and an evening outfit…I’ve styled two outfits below, one is a casual, morning outfit perfect for lunch, lounging around….The other is more of a smart outfit that can be worn out to dinner, cocktail hour, clubbing….
In both outfits I’ve used a pair of shorts from Miss Selfridge, that I’ve had my eye on for a while, I love shorts, and shorts like this are great at working into a snazzy outfit. I’ve also used a shirt from River Island that is the perfect mix of cute and trendy. In the ‘morning’ outfit I styled the shirt under a cute sweater and puffy jacket, but for the other outfit the layers come off (likely to be indoors at this point); so it’s just the shirt and shorts now.
The shorts are worn with flesh colour tights worn under stockings in the morning but black tights take over in the evening. For both outfits, I’ve used black mid-length boots with a heel that’s neither too high nor too low so can work for both.
I don’t pack too much jewellery when I travel as I find that it’s quite easy to lose bits and pieces; a trendy watch can be worn with both outfits and for the smarter outfit I’ve also added a pair of black studs. My idea would be to wear your hair loose with the morning outfit but then work into a high ponytail/bun for the smarter outfit showing off the earrings.
