Today we shine the spotlight on Maltese male model Matthew Muscat. Matthew has had quite a meteoric rise within the Maltese fashion industry; even though he only started modelling a couple of years ago, the industry noticed and appreciated his dedication and this year he was one of the nominees for Best Male Model in the Malta Fashion Awards 2013!!

So, Who is Matthew Muscat?
As a 22 year old guy i have always had a passion for fashion, I also love fishing and football and over the past year I was very lucky to be involved in the fashion industry and have become very fond of it and and I would like to persue it more.
When did your interest in modelling first begin?
I met past Miss World Malta winner Shanel Debattista who pushed me to meet Sue Rossi and from there on they started to book me for modeling jobs, after this other agencies started to contact me for more modeling jobs and campaigns.
What inspires you? Is there anyone or anything that you feel has influenced your modeling style?
Matthew Saliba ex Mr World Malta which honored Malta in the 7th place in the Mr world. He’s very versatile in every shoot and has been on many covers and campaigns, He’s been modeling for over ten years and he is still to me is a person I look up to.
What has been your proudest career moment?
Definitely when I participated in the Malta fashion week for the first time and this year when I told I was one of the nominees of the Malta Fashion awards.
Describe the best/favourite photo you have ever modelled for?
So far the 2012-2013 Guess Campaign which also featured a very talented well known singer Ira Losco.
You are predominantly a fashion model- would you call yourself a fashionable man in real life? How would you describe your style?
I’m not obsessed with fashion but I would call myself fashionable as I like to try different styles and over the past year I was very lucky to wear many different styles so I tend to go with the flow of the moment.
Do you have a few images you can share with us?
Plans for 2013?
Locally, Mr World Malta, as it would open many doors in this sector. It would be a really good experience and help me grow as a person and strengthen my modelling career. Internationally, I would really love to do a very well knows campaign such as Dolce Gabanna, Versace or similar brands.
