Last Wednesday was quite a busy night, besides the Pippa Toledo reception I was also invited to Kally’s (kallys.com.mt – maltese online store) fashion show. This was a fashion show with a difference!…Rather then the usual catwalk with 6 foot models sauntering down it, Karen the owner of Kally’s decided to host it at her lovely house, by the pool and ask her friends and family to model for her. I must say it is a highly original and welcomed concept to see clothes modelled by average people of all shapes and ages. It makes it easier to relate yourself to that person modelling if that person is of the same build and ages as you!
Check out some of my favourite outfits below:
My favourite item by far..love love the colour, the style, the beautiful collar..perfect! |
The different prints and different colour combos on this dress are really interesting. |
This envelope clutch is the perfect mix of style and elegance. |
Love how well this cinches in at the waist …really flattering! |
I’m quite into the floral and stripes combo pattern trend this season and this is one of the best I’ve seen so far. |
As you can see the clothes are lovely and the show styled by Marisa Grima was presented in a lovely flowing manner with great colour coordination – the different clothes were put into different colour groups and one group after another was modelled. The ‘models’ also did a truly wonderful job, really really impressed me..they looked poised and elegant and really carried off the clothes well. thumbs up to everyone!

Thank you for your kind feedback. As you well point out, my models are of different shape, age and stature and this portrays a cross section of the very same audience invited. I do believe it is of paramount importance that my guests need to visualise themselves in my collection – above all my daughters and my close friends are not professional models which is why they relate so well to the market niche I am targeting with my clothes. Your observant eye has cleverly caught the lovely prints I am launching this summer so I am taking the liberty of sharing your blog with all my friends.
Thank you once again.
