Brand Spotlight : Model Chanelle Muscat

Today we shine the spotlight on model
Chanelle Muscat from models.com.mt
Chanelle started modelling at a very young
age and at just 12 years old she won the Maltese Campaign to Search for a Shout Fashion Model beating 100s of
girls. As a result, she travelled to the UK and was featured in a photoshoot in
the magazine.
Five years later and Chanelle‘s modelling skills have gone from
strength to strength whilst she also continues with her studies; this year she
was nominated for Best Model in the Malta Fashion Awards.

I have had the
pleasure of working with Chanelle on a photoshoot for Style on Sunday magazine
and I was very impressed with both her skills and professional attitude. Read more about her and her modelling
achievements in this interview, which she has answered in her own words.
So, who is Chanelle Muscat?

Chanelle Muscat is an ordinary teenage girl, who
apart from working as a model, is highly determined to reach her goal of
becoming a midwife in the near future. Chanelle is a very down to earth and
bubbly person and gets on well easily with others. She’s extremely sensitive and
tends to be a bit moody at times.

“Chanelle is also a bookworm, who enjoys
playing tennis and hitting the clubs”.

When did your interest in modelling first
begin? How were you scouted?

Entering and winning the shout competition boosted
my interest and participation in the fashion industry. Upon returning to Malta,
after my experience in London, I continued my career with models.com.mt. My
agent, Carina Camilleri, gave me a lot of opportunities which not only aided me
in my career as a model, but also made me the person I am today.

You’re still very young but have already
had a number of achievements in the modelling industry…tell us something about
them..

In my career I have worked with many local stylist,
photographers, hairdressers and make-up artist, together with two of the
leading Maltese designers – Charles & Ron. Apart from taking part in
fashion shows,

“I also featured multiple times in various magazines, including:
FM magazine, Shell Bookazine, Style on Sunday magazine, amongst others”.

With regards to
foreign jobs, I have had the opportunity of working with professional photographers,
such as Rebecca Miller and also featured in an Irish magazine called Wedding
Journal.

If you had to pick one achievement as your proudest career moment?
Since every experience was satisfactory and unique
in its own way, I cannot choose just one.

What inspires you? Is there anyone or
anything that you feel has influenced your modelling style?

Honestly, since I started modelling at a young age,
I wasn’t that much into the fashion industry. Neither was I influenced nor
inspired in any particular way, but

“the support my mother gave me encouraged me
in starting my career”

and I feel that this is what inspires me.

Catwalk or Photoshoot? Describe your
favourite photo you have ever modelled for? (attach photo)

At the beginning of my career I preferred
photo-shoots to catwalk, but by time I realised that my passion for both of
them is somewhat equal.
As I mentioned before, when it comes to choosing, I find it very hard to do so,
but one of my favourite photos is from the last shoot I have done, for
Hairoscope.

I chose this photo since Kris Micallef, not only captured it in an extremely professional way, but it also reflects my personal classical style. In this photo, what I like the most, is the way I managed to express a particular emotion to the viewers.
You are predominantly a fashion model –
would you call yourself a fashionable girl in real life? How would you describe
your style?

I most definitely would, my style is a juvenile one
but classy and sophisticated at the same time.

Do you have a few images you can share with
us?

Here are some of my
favourite images.

Any exciting Plans for the rest of 2013?

Recently, with regards to catwalk, I have modelled
for Guess and Mei boutique. Moreover, with regard to photo-shoots, I have done
a bridal shoot with Kris Micallef, which should be published in the near future.
Last but not least I was chosen to model Hilfiger Denim’s latest collection for
a local online shopping website, run by Luke Engerer – http://www.personalshopper.com.mt/  … as for the
rest, no one knows what the future holds J
Hope you enjoyed that!
