Miss Malta : Miss Iklin – Gessika Vella

As the official Miss Malta Blogger I will be discussing and examining the style evolution of the competitors throughout the duration of this competition. This post focuses on Miss Iklin – Gessika Vella.

The beauty team of Miss Malta is made up of Marisa Grima (styling the fashion show), Shasha Fabri (makeup), Transforma, Sue Caruana Beauty Inc (nails) and Patrick and Screen Malta (hair).
Gessika has always been a rather stylish girl, since she was already a model prior to the competition and had even appeared on other TV programmes, she was already used to the art of self grooming. As such, I don’t think her fundamental style has really changed all that much throughout the programme; however, her hair colour has been changed, and this is a change I really agree with – before it had a dark reddish tinge and this has now been changed to a nice rich shade of brown.
In this audition photo, her hair is quite red and her makeup is rather toned down. I like Gessika more with dark eye makeup, her skin tone and features can really handle heavier eye makeup.
This is a photo from last week’s programme, I like how her hair has been swept away from her face in this look, her face is quite small and her hair quite long so sometimes when left loose it can have a curtain-like effect and hide her features. Infact, it might be interesting to see Gessika with more layers in her hair to give more volume and frame her face a bit more..

Tight clothing really suits Gessika’s tiny frame and these interesting legging-skirt-trousers show off her enviable long legs.

This week’s style was a 10/10 for Gessika. LOVE the crimped hairstyle – love the volume it added and the va va voom attitude it lent to her image.

In the fashion show Gess was stunning in cream, her dark skin tone and hair created a lovely contrast and she has the perfect figure for these tight-fitting cream trousers. Also, the girl deserves a big thumbs up for squeezing her feet into shoes two sizes two small for her she didn’t have her own and borrowed a pair from one of the other girls.
