A few months ago Marisa Grima and I decided we wanted to collaborate and work on a fashion editorial shoot together. We started off by bouncing ideas back and forth and trying to find an available date in our ridiculously busy calendars. Marisa then came up with the idea of Metallics which led to the suggestion of an overall Futuristic theme.
As a location we wanted something interesting, maybe something a bit old so as to highlight the concept of moving towards the future – a friend’s house was chosen, the interior of which has been sandblasted onto a lovely stone finish and which has been decorated in a brilliant retro style..
The team was formed which included Kurt Paris as photographer, Elaine Galea @ uniquefashionstudios for makeup, Chis @ MAF Hairdressing for Hair, and Amy and Eleonara from supernovamodel.com. We also decided to use Miss Selfridge as a clothes and shoes sponsor and we made use of our own jewellery collections.

It’s not the norm for two stylists to work on an editorial together but I loved the experience, besides the fact that Marisa is a very talented and experienced stylist and collaborating with her is always a learning experience, it was really fun planning and sharing ideas and being on a shoot together!
