You will recall me blogging about Martina of Marpesia&Co and her fabulous jewellery, in particular her super unique pregnancy necklaces…she’s just added a new and highly interesting item to her impressive portfolio – handmade spectacle chains using luxurious materials such as gold fill, ruby, sky blue topaz and amethyst!
I’m always excited when Maltese designers go against the flow and design something original yet terribly useful, this new product is in my opinion – genius. I’m sure those who wear reading glasses must be greeting this news with lots of enthusiasm, although I don’t wear them myself I’ve been told lots of times by those that do, that the constant wearing and removing of reading spectacles is a large nuisance. In fact many people I know just resort to having things read out to them..rather than taking out their spectacles for the umpteenth time.
Spectacle chains have always existed but no self respecting fashionista would ever be seen totting about a pair of those ugly material spectacle chains found in many spectacle shops…this is where Marpesia&Co’s new product comes in…the chains are so beautiful and so exquisitely put together that people will probably think you’ve attached your spectacles to a necklace..
You can buy them from her store on etsy – for all the effort that goes into making them and the quality of the materials, I think they’re super well priced at 36 euros!
