Events Post : Mango Inauguration at Main Street Paola

Friday 29th November was a busy evening, besides the Michael Kors Event, I also attended the inauguration party of Mango at Main Street Paola Shopping Complex. I went with Marisa Grima, my shopping partner in crime.
Stunning shop, the nicest Mango store in Malta by far, spacious, well designed, well-lit, I was very, very impressed.
Mango is a shop that always makes me feel a bit nostalgic; it is one of the first, if not the first shops I fell in love with in Malta; at just 12/13 years of age. Looking back at my childhood and teenage years I see now that I was always destined to be somehow connected to the world of fashion; I was always more absorbed in clothes, nails and makeup, even than my most fashion savvy friends. However at 13, my spending powers were slightly more limited and my shopping slightly more rational and contained. This meant that I looked forward tremendously to every present opportunity as it involved a trip to Mango with my mummy, which would end with me going home with a new outfit, which generally meant a new pair of trousers and a coordinated top or something like that; they always did have the nicest fitting trousers.
As the years passed, I fell in and out of love with many other stores and brands of course but Mango always retained a special place in my heart, both cause of the memories it evoked and also because their clothing lines never lost that lovely fit, always looked more expensive then they in fact were and have always been of very good quality
In terms of flair and style, over the years there have been some collections that really excited me and some that left me a bit unimpressed, this season I hadn’t spent much time in the store and actually hadn’t been in in over a month, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. WOW! My credit card had a heart attack within two minutes of me stepping inside. The leather jackets! The trendy sweaters! The Coats! Polka dot, hounds tooth, military style, all I could see around the shop was stuff I wanted to own.
It is worth mentioning at this point part of my conversation with Marisa here – Me “I get it ?” She – “But do you need it Car ?” Me -“Mar what sort of question is that for YOU to ask ME?”. The item in question was a red, slinky, loose-fitting top; the really amusing thing is that not only did I get it but she got one too……I am sure she really needed it.
Check out some pics of the collection that I snapped inside the store:
