Beauty : PUPA BB CREAM + DARK SPOT TREATMENT

I’m a self-confessed hoarder with everything. I keep labels, old cards, refuse to get rid of any of my clothes / stuff and own enough beauty products to open a fully-stocked shop. With beauty products what tends to happen, is that I try out a new product, either that I was given to review or that caught my eye on one of my holidays, get really into using it for a while and then move on to the next big thing.
A big exception was last summer’s PUPA BB cream. This product earned itself a place in my gym bag and since I can’t store a range of options in said bag – this actually got used an average of 4 mornings a week over the last year,

A few months ago, PUPA MILANO sent me a new 2015 addition to their primer family and I immediately updated the bag. The first update I noticed is that it has been given an SPF improvement from -20 to 30 – which is quite an important fact for us Maltesers. The second update is that it now also seems to include a form of whitening treatment for existing dark spots and the prevention of new ones occurring.
Review
  • Texture: The texture is similar to the other product, but I much prefer this nude colour, it blends in very well into my skin.
  • Moisture: The previous BB cream might be a bit more moisturising. I prefer to apply this new one over another moisturiser. If I’m going to be out and about in the heat, it’s fine worn alone but if spending a day under an AC, I found that after a few hours it started to look a bit dry and cakey.
  • Coverage: Coverage and smoothing out my uneven skin tone is great, I’d say the result is a bit more natural-looking than the other product, I love the smooth skin effect it gives me.
  • Longevity: Both this product and the makeup I apply over it hold up well, by the end of my work day everything looks just like it did in the gym mirror, 9 hrs earlier.
  • Dark Spot Treatment: I think you might have to use this every day without fail, to properly get the full benefit of this. Also, I only have one or two faint dark spots (I’m naturally rather dark-skinned so maybe they show up less) so probably the testing platform isn’t that great.

Although the other BB cream hadn’t yet finished completely, I’ve switched to using this new one instead, mainly because of the higher SPF but also because the colour and coverage tends to give a more natural look. Can’t wait to see what they come up with next year!
