In the world of fashion, we love to relive the years gone by. This summer we revived a past era -the 70s. Yes flared jeans are truly back.
Funny story about flared jeans, I recently asked a twenty-year-old to try on a pair and she told me that she likes them but finds the idea a bit strange. It took me a while to understand why and then I realised how young she is, she actually doesn’t remember boot cut or flared jeans, all she knows is the skinny style.
Skinny jeans do look good on certain body shapes but for roughly only about 60% percent of females, flared jeans are much more flattering. The flared shape lengthens the leg and balances out any extra midsection fat and jiggle. I also happen to think that they look absolutely fabulous, there is so much character in a pair of wide flares.
The 70s had a lot more to them than flared jeans, tie-dye fabrics have also made a reappearance as well as geometric patterns and flowy, bohemian dresses.Whilst lace does always seem to be around in summertime but this time it’s here in different forms and patterns, there’s the more femme fatale look using black geometric lace, there’s the sweet and innocent look found on many pretty lace shift dresses and also lots of little lace trimmings and details added onto more basic pieces.
So since it’s presently SALE time and there’s like 3 months of summer left in Malta – it’s time to grab some bargains.
Here are some of my top picks (in the picture above).
