I’m not always great at actually getting round to trying out and reviewing all the products and samples I receive. The root of the problem is that I have some staples that I love and I find it hard to convince myself to ‘risk’ using others. I know I could always remove a product and start over if I hate it but seriously – who has time for that? Last weekend, the rain awarded me some unplanned time and I decided to be fruitful and force myself to use some ‘new’ products.
The Makeup Studio Fluid foundation is one I really wanted to like, the brand has a great reputation but being a MAC foundation diehard fan, I was a bit wary.
The foundation provides a medium-to-light coverage, it is easy to blend and apply. The colour I tried is the natural and as tends to be the case, with foundations I receive for reviewing, it is a bit too light for my skin tone, especially in my presently somewhat tanned condition – having said that, they have a range of different colours – check here.
To get to my review – I didn’t hate it but I didn’t love it either. The consistency is a bit too thick for my liking, not cakey as such, but neither does it have that translucent, invisible quality that for instance the my fave MAC one does. For certain special occasions or TV appearances, I do sometimes need something a bit thicker with better coverage but then the Makeup Studio Fluid Foundation doesn’t really provide amazing coverage either. It would say this product would be ideal for someone with oilier skin than moi or someone who desires a certain amount of coverage even for daily use.
