London Fashion Week ss16 – Jean-Pierre Braganza – Backstage & Catwalk

Being backstage at a London Fashion Week event is quite an experience, the amout of people present is a bit overwhelming, wherever you move, you are in someone’s way. There are huge hair and makeup teams, videographers, photographers, journalists and dressers. Makeup artists and hair stylists work on the same model simultaneously, sometimes up until seconds before the model is due out and a dresser is assigned to each model.
For the coming season, Jean-Pierre Braganza presented a Bauhaus-inspired collection with bold, sharp graphical prints and a feeling of weightlessness in the fabrics.
The main hairstylist for this event was Indira Schauwecker for Toni&Guy, Indira aimed to emulate a sense of functional beauty using a defined centre parting with undone waves. To create the waves, sea salt spray or volume spray by LABELM were used before using hair tongs in different directions.
The collection presented is a very modern one with sharp silhouettes and a colour palette of striking blues, reds and monochrome touches. There were some plainer, cleaner looks and others with beautiful, technicolour prints. The collection is a wonderul harmony of edgy and feminine, structure and fluidity.
